Mark Clarke is the Managing Director of Clarke Health and Safety Consultants Limited. Mark has over 40 years experience in the scaffolding construction industry, Mark began his career as a scaffolder. He also worked in scaffolding management for seven years where he worked at Shell Stanlow managing a large oil refinery.Mark began his Health and Safety career in 1990 working on Shell Stanlow. In 1994 Mark took up the position of Health and Safety Adviser for one of the UKs largest scaffolding contractors. In the six years Mark worked as a safety adviser for this company his main role was to manage scaffolding/painting and asbestos operations within the nuclear industry and the petrochemical industry across the UK.In 2000 Mark took up the position with Bluestone Plc (now Morgan Ashurst) as one of their safety managers based in the North West.  Mark was the co-author of the NASCs SG4:00 and SG4:05. Mark works closely with the HSE and the NASC and is a guest speaker at many Health and Safety Seminars in the UK.

One of Marks major roles whilst employed by Bluestone Plc was to advise the company on scaffolding and Work at Height issues. In July 2005 Mark left Bluestone and formed Clarke Health and Safety Consultants Limited with his wife Karen.

Mark is the Ex-Chairman of the Merseyside branch of IOSH and is a founder member of the Haydock Working Well Together Committee.
